STEM for All

The goal of our STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) program since its inception has been to offer a curriculum to students at every grade level. We started with a handful of students in 4th and 5th grade at our Indianola campus and added middle school STEM as these students continued, adding more students each year. This year we implemented a high school program that includes drone navigation. The Polaris campus has a STEM lab and curriculum for all elementary students. Next steps include adding STEM at all elementary campuses and possibly competition groups for our high school students. Research shows that STEM projects increase problem-solving skills, boost creative thinking and teamwork, and prepares students for careers in a 21st world. Our greater curricular vision is to create STEM projects that impact and serve our community and make a difference through the creative problem-solving of our students.
